Simple and Delicious Meatballs Recipe Your Family Will Love
Sharing the heart of our family's kitchen, spaghetti night with homemade meatballs. Fresh parsley, sautéed onions, a subtle touch of cinnamon and curry, and crunchy panko breadcrumbs make this recipe unforgettable. Simple ingredients, deep flavor.
Finely dice an onion and saute it in a large pot on low heat with 2 tbsp of olive oil for 30 minutes. Turn the onions every 5 minutes so that they don't burn. Let cool.
In a large mixing bowl, add sauteed onions, ground beef, chopped Italian parsley, panko breadcrumbs, curry powder, cinnamon and kosher salt. Mix well with your hands.
Roll the meat mixture into 2 inch round balls. There should be about 30 balls in total.
Heat remaining 2 tbsp of olive oil on medium heat. Working in batches, add meatballs to the pot and sear, turning until just brown on each side. About 5 minutes total. Repeat until all the meatballs are browned.
Clean out excess oil and bits from your pot. Pour in jars of tomato sauce and add back the meatballs. Bring to a low boil, cover and turn the heat to low. Allow meatballs to fully cook inside the sauce for 30 minutes.
*Depending on the fat content of you beef, you may find that your sauce has an excess of oil. Simply use a ladle to remove the oil into a bowl and discard.
Serve this delicious sauce with your favorite pasta or vegetable.
